Taking a comedic; yet powerful blow at the critics of the highly controversial, yet wildly popular Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH ) initiative, RuPaul used his appearance on SNL to illustrate just why “reading is fundamental!” Ru-as we call him-entered the space gifting the children and parents with “reading glass.” From this point on, he proceeded to teach the audience just how to “read!” This ingenious sketch gave proof positive why RuPaul is perhaps the most iconic drag queen of this generation. He’s more than a dress and wig. The man is TALENTED! This skit will no doubt go down as one of the funniest in SNL history. I won’t spoil it, but I do encourage you to check out the clip below. This is the type of comedy needed to help heal the wounds of generational homophobia. This is a brilliant way to initiate an era where we celebrate diversity, encourage acceptance of difference and help to prevent bullying…Kudos Ru!!!… Deo
